Mickey Mouse

We love Mickey Mouse! We went through Mickey's house in Disneyland and on our way out stopped in to get our photos taken with him. We walked right in and didn't even have to stand in line-what luck!

Mormon Battalion Museum

We stopped by the Mormon Battalion Museum in Old Town San Diego. It has been several years since we have been there and it has been completely redone. It is very interactive for the children and we loved it. They made it so interesting and the children not only learned but Devon was able to dress up, they were able to pan for gold and they took our family picture for us. Jason needed a little roughing up from Lance after the tour. Look at those happy pioneer children.

DISNEYLAND

We finally made it to Disneyland! We couldn't have had a more perfect day there thanks to our magical friend Jenny who truly worked magic for us! We made it on almost ever single ride we wanted to at least once and only had to stand in line for nor more than 20 mins. Yes, even on a Saturday on the middle of summer. It was a beautiful thing! We all had our favorite rides and it was fun to watch the kids love the rides.

Madison's 5th Birthday

Madison is now physically 5 years old, however, in spirit she is a teenager! She had a "princess" party and we had about 10 lovely princesses here to celebrate. We made crowns and other crafts, pinned the princess on the castle and other games, and had a great time. She is an amazing little girl!

Science Fair 2010

We love the school science fair! There were some great presentations this year and interesting experiments. We always love the Mad Science presentation and Nature's Critters but it is fun to walk around and see what other students come up with. Alexia did her presentation on monkeys. Lauren did her presentation on lions and Devon could not help but do the infamous "volcano" presentation. He and Lance came up with a great volcano replica. And, if you look closely you will see many plastic army guys around the volcano about to perish from the hot lava. There was a poor guy in the crater. Devon loves his drama!

Uncle Ren

We have proof that Ren was here and not a figment of our imagination. It was so great to see him after returning from the middle east and to have him be in our home! We are so grateful for your service, Ren, and only wish you would move your family closer to us instead of further away!

Birthdays

I have so much to catch up on that it will be impossible to even scratch the surface so I will do the highlights starting with Alexia's and Devon's birthdays. I am sure they good birthdays but I don't remember what we did! We are so blessed to have Alexia and Devon and the bonus blessing is that they are such good friends!

My car accident

I was in a car accident last month that was quite a shake up for me but luckily no one was hurt. I am doing fine- a little sore in the back and a bruise on my knee.I hope my back won't get worse and I am grateful I am in such good shape- blessing #1. Blessing #2 was that the children were not with me. They were at my friend, Jenny's house, and I was on my way to pick up Jason from basketball. Blessing #3- no one was hurt and we all walked away fine, no one had to go to the hospital. Blessing #4- the accident happened right in front of a fire station. The response time was impressively speedy! Blessing # 5- Our car was not an expensive one so to know that it was totalled did not crush us- unlike the young man's car that hit me- a rather nice Mercedes. Blessing #6 - my friend Jenny was my first phone call to get Jason and she came to be with me at the accident- it made all the difference in the world to have a friend there! Blessing #7-Heavenly Father was protecting me and all involved and was "with me whithersoever I goest" (Love this years YW theme!) I have a small suspicion that the young man involved was talking on his cell phone but I will never be sure. I didn't even see him coming.
We have since purchased a new car and the beautiful thing is that it is completely paid for- that was our first priority. It just isn't fair to get your car totalled when you only have one more payment to make. We again found a great deal in San Francisco. I believe there is not a strong demand for minivans and they just want to get rid op them!

Devon and Indoor Soccer

Devon had the chance to play some indoor soccer at the beginning of this year. He loved it and picked it up very quickly. It was sooo much fun to watch and some of the best soccer I have seen kids

his age play. He doesn't look excited because he didn't want his picture taken!

Christmas 2009

Here are some pictures of our Christmas morning. Unfortunately, I don't remember much except that it was a very quiet and relaxing day, a good day. We stayed home and just played for the whole day.

Lance blocked of the living room and made them line up before they could come in on Christmas morning.

Devon's Arrow of Light

Devon managed to complete everything for his arrow of light a month before his birthday! I can't say it enough but good scout leaders rock!
